November Reading Wrap-Up: Cozy Reads, Brave Tales, and a Dash of Hope

Hey there, fellow bookworms! Can you believe it? We’re about to bid adieu to 2023 and step into the wild unknown of 2024! And let me tell you, this year’s reading journey has been one exhilarating rollercoaster.

At the beginning of this year, I set my sights on reading around 20 books. But guess what? I smashed that goal! Surpassed it by a long shot, and I couldn’t be happier.

Now, since I’ve kind of resurrected this blog (hello, old friend!), I figured it’s time to spill the beans on my November book escapades. I managed to dive into 9 books this month! Yep, one more than October. Remember that titan of a book, American Prometheus, from last month? Well, this time around, the page counts took a bit of a dip. Quality over quantity, right?

Let’s talk preferences. Lately, I’ve been all about those cozy, heartwarming, and sometimes tear-jerking tales. Feel-good reads just hit differently, you know? Light, hopeful, and tugging at those heartstrings.

Fiction stole the spotlight in my reading adventures this month. It’s been a smoother ride through those stories. I hit 80 (!) books in October, and then I thought, “Why not aim for 100?” A little ambitious, but you guys, I can see the finish line!

My ‘currently reading’ stack leans heavily on fiction, though I do sprinkle in some non-fiction with a soft spot for memoirs.

So, let’s dive into my November picks: snippets of poetry, heartwarming tales about found families, and stories echoing bravery in times of change and self-acceptance. These reads quietly champion bravery in their own ways. Here are the books I’ve read for November from the highest to the lowest rated:

Envelope Poems, Emily Dickinson

The Hen Who Dreamed She Could Fly, Sunmi Hwang

The Lost Ticket, Freya Sampson

Legends and Lattes, Travis Baldree

Romantic Comedy, Curtis Sittenfeld

How did November treat your bookshelf? I’d love to swap stories!
