HOMEABOUT

My First Publisher Book Mail (and why it felt like coming home)

I’ve been quiet here for a bit, and just popping back in without saying anything didn’t feel right.

I started a new job recently, the kind that takes a lot from you at the start. Somewhere in the middle of finding my footing, this space went a little still. Not because I stopped reading. I didn’t. If anything, books were the one constant. They just didn’t make it here.

So when a package from Times Reads showed up last week, it felt like a small tap on the shoulder.

Hey. Come back to this.

And I’m really glad I did.

What arrived:

The Dinner Party by Viola van de Sandt

One dinner, a table full of history, and truths that probably should’ve stayed buried. I’m already getting that quiet, creeping tension from this. Feels like it’s going to unravel slowly.

Guided by Laura Lynne Jackson

This one explores intuition, spiritual connection, and the idea that we might be guided in ways we don’t always notice. Picked it up and immediately felt like it arrived at the right time. Which feels very on brand.

Life in Three Dimensions by Shigehiro Oishi

Psychology, culture, and what actually makes a life feel meaningful, but in a grounded way. Not abstract, not distant. I already know this is going to be a highlighter book.

What Happens in the Dark by Kia Abdullah

A psychological thriller about morality, truth, and what people do under pressure. Feels like the kind of book that’ll make me pause mid-chapter and just sit with it for a bit. Saving this for when I can give it my full attention.

Haven’t read them yet, but I’ll share as I go.

If anything here caught your eye, Times Reads has a stockist page that makes it easy to find without falling into a scrolling spiral: https://www.timesreads.com/stockists

Feels good to be back. Let’s talk books.
